Bread Baking Babes bake without flour. Huh?

Yup, that's right. We baked a flourless bread. Lynn invited us at her Kitchen Table and hosted this month with a Yeasted Sprouted Wheat Bread.

A Yeasted Sprouted Wheat bread.
Where you go to town, three times, check all health stores, come out empty handed.
Where you despair and finally decide to call someone you talk to every once in a while and secretly hope that it stays that way and doesn't evolve into coffee klatsch.
Where you call that person because she might be in the know how to obtain wheat berries. So you can sprout them. To bake Yeasted Sprouted Wheat Bread.

1.1/2 hour later... I have a new BFF, one new address to check and no wheat berries.

I 'm afraid I might have to be UnBabed. Because almost all Babes found wheat berries, succeeded in sprouting them and made bread with it. And I'm so in awe!!

Then ... we have some news for you. We have Babe news and Buddy news. Or Whom It May Concern news. As I have experienced lately there is something beside blogging that takes up time. It's called life. Life has to be taken seriously whether it's overhauling your house, taking care of loved ones, pursuing a career, navigating curved roads in any way. Sometimes life goes hand in hand with blogging, sometimes it's just too much of a thing.
Babes aren't any different in this than the next gal so some of us need a breather and to keep the flour flowing we've invited some new girls (and tested their stamina with this recipe..woooo we're Bad!). Let me introduce:

Then there's the exciting (at least I think so) Buddy and Whom it may concern news:

We’d like you, everyone of you, to put your thinking caps on, pull out all your bread books and recipes and no not pick our next bread ... we want you to pick our Anniversary Bread for February 2011. That’s right, come about November, we’re going to ask you to mail us the recipe that you love the most or the recipe that scares you the most.

What's your favorite bread?
What bread haven't you ever been able to get to turn out the way you want?
What bread scares you the most?
What's the bread recipe you've baked the most?
What bread do you dream about baking?
etc.

We will be back with more news and how to go from here as we get closer to November. Stay tuned.

  2. No wheat berries for me.... But, had I found them I don't have a food processor to process them. I'm so primitive - just sharp knives.....
So.... did you have a nice chat?

  3. Oh!! So that's what it was, a stamina test!

Poor you to miss out on the sprouting adventure. (I could send you some wheat berries so you too could try making this bread... now who has a fiendish grin?)

Katie, couldn't you have devised some sort of chopping device from spiked shoes?

  8. Awww, when I first saw the recipes I was not sure if I could find wheat berries here that actually would sprout.
Then the sprouting part was easier than I'd expected.
