Aren't they beautiful?
I'm still in no-move-mood but these shiitake sure don't need their behinds kicked, they keep growing fast! Maybe I should try and photograph their progress every couple of hours, it seems to me we can see them grow.
I've already harvested 5 large shiitake and this morning there were 4 more ready to pick. I thoroughly enjoy my birthday present! Shiitake for dinner tonight.
Wow! That is so cool :-)
ReplyDeletei guess this is my first time here -- holy cow!
ReplyDeleteWat leuk en wat spannend! Ze zijn al behoorlijk groot en ik hoop dat ze dat straks niet allemaal tegelijk zijn maar dat je er lekker lang heerlijk van kunt genieten.
ReplyDeleteYay for shiitake goodness! What a wonder!
ReplyDeleteWat ontzettend leuk/spannend.
ReplyDeleteHeb tijden gekeken naar champions kweken bij het postorderbedrijf "bakker"maar had er niet zo`n vertrouwen in maar dit is echt "kikken".
Ben benieuwd hoe het verder gaat.
Very cool. I've never seen em like that, just at the store.
ReplyDeleteWow! Nice to know these products actually work. I've wanted one for years now.
ReplyDeleteI can't even begin to tell you how cool this is! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWe bought a kit, years ago, to grow our own: you were supposed to drill holes in a log, and hammer some wooden pegs in (they'd been treated with spores). It never did work.
We'll look around for something like what you have, instead!
@David: thanks it really IS so much fun! I already got about 400 grams from the first harvest and the package is now "resting" for 2 weeks in a cool dark place (no really). They say I can revive it and harvest again, up to 3 times more.
