Lemon cordial Bacardi
1 quantity of lemon cordial, chilled
1 quantitiy of white rum
top up with carbonated water to taste
ice
I just dumped in an ice cube but if you're going to serve this at a summer party, crushed ice and a sprig of lemon balm or mint would be so festive!
Yesterday night when I tried it on a whim I had some strawberry juice left in the bowl.... added it... yum!
OMG I am on my way over, chill the glasses-here I come!
ReplyDeleteYES PLEASE! That looks incredible! Do you have to have tartaric acid for the cordial? I don't know what that is.
ReplyDeleteI'll be happy to be three's charm guest for this one Karen. Used to be all I knew to drink was rum. Put strawberry with it, I'm there.
ReplyDeleteGirls and this is the polite-modestly-drinking-girl-variation; right after Tanna suggested rum instead of vodka I tried a "free-hand" version, definitely more rum more lemon less water turned it into a grown-up drink with a bite!
ReplyDeleteSara, I brought some tartaric acid back from Sweden (!?) couldn't remember what recipe I had to use it in so that's why it was in my pantry....
I've read that it adds a sour flavor but I think you can do without unless it has a conserving quality as well. Don't know really.
It's always a good time for a great drink.
ReplyDeleteWat is het mooi flashy nou!! Like the colours!!
