a happy Baking Soda on the left with friend Clasien on the right
I had a truly great birthday last Saturday. Not only were we able to sit outside after weeks of real autumny weather, I got all these fabulous presents (which you will see eventually represented here...or the results) and to top it all off my bbm package arrived!
USPS was kind enough to inform me there was a package coming from Mariko over at Supereggplant, so anticipation was building (all the way from the States, and a Japanese sounding name...teeehee!) and Saturday the postman had no chance to ring the doorbell, upon arriving he was stormed by all children in the house and one elderly lady yelling: Yay, that's mine!
I restrained myself and managed to take a photo of the package in it's original state. (Phew, imagine the forces battling within).
Deftly opened the envelope and one by one all these lovely items presented themselves. Cheers and shrieks of joy all around. Mom, look that's candy! (slap on hands when twins simultaneously try to grab sours and Hello Kitty candy), oh wow mom, can I bring one of those ice-tea things to school please..(Floris, already planning to impress classmates).
Let me show you from top left to bottom right; macaroni&cheese, lemony variety of sweets, coffee flavoured candy (yum!), green tea noodles (yippee!), Hello Kitty gummies, Jif peanutbutter (husband gets nostalgic), Ice-tea sachets, roasted green tea bags, and ice breakers and underneath a piece of fabric (ooh what will I make? not sure yet, maybe a teacosy or an apron or..).
I (we) really enjoyed your package Mariko, thank you so much for making my first BBM so much fun, and to Stephanie at Dispensing Happiness for hosting this edition of BBM, kudos!

What a super fun package! So husband has a yen for peanut butter. Is it hard to get there? I'm excited to see what becomes of the fabric.
ReplyDeleteStaat BBM hier voor Birthday by mail? Sorry, misschien onnozele vraag.

Yvette,
Tanna,
Oh yes, we do have an abundance of peanutbutter here, but seeing Jif and/or Skippy makes him think back to the ole days of studying in the States, at UGA, Athens GA. Go, Georgia Bulldogs!! (if that's the phrase...I wasn't around at the time...I only listen to the stories....)
hoi!
Your package looks fantastic! I am a reader of Mariko's blog so I am quite envious of your package! How exciting :) Do you know that my supermarket here (C1000) stocks Skippy? It's the only pindakaas we eat :)
ReplyDeleteThis post really makes me smile. I can imagine very well...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have just "dared" to launch my own joint project (surprise, surprise) and it was a matter of no-question-at-all that you are invited... Hope you can join in the fun !
Good Morning Baking Soda, the "anonym" post was mine, sorry, obviously something went wrong with the server yesterday night... Hugs and you are with us in thought and heart, angelika
